A Child’s Journey to Success Shaped by Donors Like You
Junaid, a bright and fun-loving boy, dreams of becoming a dancer. For the past year, he’s been attending classes at the Udaan Child Development Centre, a crucial support system that’s helping him pursue his passion.
A few years ago, Junaid’s life took a difficult turn. He used to live with his parents in Chennai, India, but his mother was forced to leave his father due to domestic violence. She moved to Bhiwandi, near Mumbai, to live with her mother and Junaid’s grandmother, and worked tirelessly to support her family. Despite battling a constant cough and being unwell, Junaid’s mother continued to work until she tragically died from her illness.
Adding to this immense hardship, Junaid’s father refused to care for him. As a result, Junaid’s 80-year-old maternal grandmother became his sole guardian. She’s finding it financially difficult to care for Junaid, especially given her age.
This is why the Udaan Child Development Centre is so vital for Junaid. Since it is open to all children, he was able to enrol and attend classes, providing him with a nurturing environment. Junaid is holding up strong despite his young age, displaying a positive attitude towards life with the support of his Udaan teachers and social worker. He’s not just learning to dance; he’s finding stability and hope.
We anticipate 80 more children joining Udaan shortly.
Our urgent need is approximately $24,000 to support these children for the next six months.
For about £40 monthly ($50), you can change a child’s destiny.
